NOTICE OF CIB PLANNING GRANT APPLICATION: FOR FUTURE UTILITY SERVICES AT THE UMTRA MILL SITE AND ADJACENT PROPERTIES

Grand Water & Sewer Service Agency Office

The purpose of the public hearing is to explain the CIB Planning Grant Application to evaluate water and wastewater treatment facilities to serve properties North of the Colorado River.

The study would evaluate and develop scalable regional wastewater treatment and culinary water systems at the UMTRA property to support future public facilities, tourism infrastructure, National Park operations, employee housing, adjacent private development, and future regional growth. Improvements may include modular wastewater treatment capacity, metered septage receiving for pumped vault and pit toilet waste from throughout Arches National Park, long-term sewer and culinary water system expansion capabilities, and development of sustainable water supplies through groundwater wells or treated Colorado River water. The project is intended to improve environmental management, create reliable utility infrastructure, provide system redundancy and resiliency, and support coordinated long-term economic development and infrastructure planning for the region.
